23 entrepreneur students record sales of RM203,000 within six months

SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — Within six months, 23 entrepreneur students who were also participants of the Student Entrepreneur Programme (Usahawan Mahasiswa or PUM) 2022 have recorded a total sales value of RM203,318.80.

The programme organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), which started from April to September last year, was attended by students from various higher learning institutes.

PKNS senior general manager of entrepreneurship Azilah Arshad said the participants were given guidance through physical and online learning methods, which included modules relating to sales and marketing, financial management, group training, simulations and mentoring.

She said that PKNS is committed to providing a platform to help produce more generations of young entrepreneurs.

“On that basis, PKNS will continue its legacy through this initiative by providing exposure to real business environments,” she said in a statement.

Azilah added that the programme gave students opportunities through the experience of interacting and communicating with buyers, while polishing entrepreneurial talents.

She also said, the PUM initiative that was introduced since 2003 is expected to help young entrepreneurs develop their businesses, thus, boosting and strengthening the state’s economic ecosystem.

“Whenever there is an active selling and buying cycle, it strengthens the state’s economic position.

“We hope that by organising this programme, more young people will understand the importance of starting a business with knowledge and guidance,” she said.
