SHAH ALAM, Dec 15 — A total of 47 temporary relief centres (PPS) have been operating to accommodate 4,096 flood victims in Selangor since November.

Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) deputy director Mohd Razuki Sibi said the PPS opened are in Sepang, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Langat.

“Throughout this year, we have opened 81 PPS, however, from November until today (yesterday), only 47 PPS remain in operation.

“We still have some 1,229 centres in Selangor that will be activated when needed,” he said during the flood assistance handover ceremony from the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI to JKM here yesterday.

Mohd Razuki received the donation from MBI chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek.

He also advised flood victims to relocate to the nearest PPS when instructed by the authorities.

“The relocation would ease JKM’s process in assisting them, including providing food and other necessities.

“Hopefully flood victims will follow the evacuation instructions,” he added.
