PKNS-Bank Muamalat sign MOU, offering opportunities for more people to own homes

SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and Bank Muamalat have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that opens up opportunities for more people to own homes, today.

PKNS chief executive officer Dato’ Mahmud Abbas said Bank Muamalat offers final financing to PKNS customers involving housing projects of various categories including affordable homes.

“Indeed it is PKNS’s desire to increase the level of home ownership for more people, especially youths and first home buyers,” he said after the MOU signing ceremony.

The ceremony which took place at SACC Kelana Seafood Restaurant here was also attended by the Bank Muamalat president and chief executive office Khairul Kamarudin.

Mahmud added that the banking agency also offers financial advisory services through its Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme and the First Home Scheme in collaboration with Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan Berhad and Cagamas Berhad.

“As for the business segment, advisory services and facilities will be provided for small and medium industries (SMEs) involving vendors and business partners,” he said.

Meanwhile, Khairul said the banking agency is ready to provide solutions and financial facilities to business entities and individuals, especially first-time home buyers.

“The bank understands the problems faced by customers coupled with the current economic situation which is quite challenging, especially for first home buyers.

“Therefore, the bank is ready to provide solutions and financial facilities to individuals and business entities,” he said.
