Selangor in an apt position in entering new era with Federal govt — MB

SHAH ALAM, Jan 21 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has described Selangor as being in an apt position to enter a new era following its strong relationship with the Federal government.

Amirudin in his Chinese New Year address said the Year of the Rabbit, which symbolises peace, longevity, and prosperity, is timely with the country shifts into a new era that is based on unity and aims at bringing prosperity and peace to all.

“We have gone through tough times from March 2020 until November 2022, where we had to face the Covid-19 pandemic, a political crisis, abuse of power and an economic slowdown due to the world’s geopolitical elements and wars.

“Selangor is a state that is full of uniqueness and has much to offer, a melting pot of Malaysia. In governing the state, everyone’s welfare must be protected, not only that of certain communities or parties.

“The interest of all, especially the people and communities who are in need, has driven this administration to continue its determination so that Selangor would continue to rise (Selangor Bangkit) and move forward (Maju Bersama) together,” he said in a statement today.

Amirudin added that the determination was translated through the various measures taken by the state government last year, which will be continued this year.

“For example, the Selangor Implementation and Performance Monitoring Unit (SIAP) has been monitoring the timeline for main projects in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), which was approved last year, so that it will be continued this year.

“Lastly, I pray for the best for all of us and may we continue striving and be in full spirit in continuing to work for our living. With that hope and prayers, I wish all a Happy Chinese New Year,” he said.
