SHAH ALAM, March 24 — The Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah graciously presented approximately RM7,800 in aid to 26 orphans of Rumah Anak Yatim Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj (RAYSAS) in Pantai Kundor, Melaka, yesterday.
Asides from presenting RM300 to each orphan, His Highness also presented kain pelikat and 100kg of rice to the welfare home.
“The programme organised by Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) with the consent of His Highness, who on a near-annual basis heads to RAYSAS to provide Aidilfitri donations to its orphans,” said the Selangor Royal Office in a Facebook post.
Tengku Amir’s arrival was met by the Melaka Islamic Religious Council (Maim) deputy chairman Datuk Wira Md Rawi Mahmud, Yide chairman Tan Sri Mazlan Mansor, and Maim secretary Muhammad Ikram Ibrahim.

In a statement, Yide said the programme is the first of its kind after nearly three years of not visiting the orphanage, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Despite being unable to come for three years,
“Even though he was able to attend for three years, the orphans’ welfare is still taken care of. Yide has been unfailing in fulfilling its responsibility of channelling Hari Raya Aidilfitri donations via online transactions when Malaysia was affected by Covid-19.
“We humbly thank His Highness the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, for gracing us with his presence, to visit and interact with the orphans. This is a clear indication of His Highness’ approachability when it comes to the people of various ages,” it said.
