AMPANG, April 14 — State investment arm Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has provided a donation of RM13,000 for the repairs to the leaking water tank and pipeline at Flat Kelompok Camar in Kampung Tasek Permai yesterday.
It was handed over by its corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal to the flat’s joint management body chairman Mohd Khairul Annuar Mohd Suhaimi, during the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council’s (MPAJ) Iftar Perdana dan Jalinan Ihsan Wahana programme.
During the event, MBI donated 100 food baskets containing kitchen items for needy residents and their families, which was presented by Teratai state constituency coordinator Ng Sze Han.
Ahmad Azri said he was informed of the water tank leakage problem following a complaint on WhatsApp, to which he paid a visit to the flat on March 28.
“After receiving the complaint, I checked with the councillor to determine the validity of the problem.
“I personally came on down to see the condition of the leaking water tank and pipeline, after which I approved RM13,000 in aid funds to cover the cost of the repairs,” he said after the fast-breaking meal with over 200 flat residents.
The 20-year-old flat consists of two blocks, with each block consisting of 100 doors and inhabited by 400 residents.
Asides from MBI’s donated funds for the cost of refurbishing the flat, the Teratai state constituency also topped it with a sum of RM10,000. Flat Kelompok Camar is situated in Zone 19 MPAJ.
