No water disruption in Selangor — Exco

SHAH ALAM, April 23 — There have been no reports of water supply disruption in the state which have affected the ongoing Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, in spite of the Batang Kali Water Treatment Plant (WTP) temporarily stopping on Friday (April 21).

Berita Harian reported state executive councillor of the environment Hee Loy Sian as saying the WTP’s operations was paused due to the river water’s turbidity, which exceeded the set standards.

“The incident occurred at 8.30pm on Friday, but only momentarily and it did not affect the water supply to the homes of residents.

“The WTP resumed operations at 9.45pm, and so far there have been no disruptions to the water supply in Selangor,” he said when contacted earlier today.

Hee added the Immediate Action Squad (Pantas) is constantly carrying out 24-hour patrols in all locations, particularly by the Selangor Water Management Authority and Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd’s experts.
