PKPS: Affordable sales prog achieves over RM7 mln in sales within four months

SHAH ALAM, April 27 — The Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) 2.0 programme has recorded a total of RM7.71 million in sales over a four-month period since January.

Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation Group (PKPS) chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the programme has helped people save an accumulated value of RM3.75 million.

“The figure was achieved via the JER 2.0 initiative held in 56 Selangor state constituencies involving 448 locations. Chicken, rice, and eggs were among the top-selling items.

“With almost RM12 million in spendings, including subsidy costs, JER is able to offer the people of Selangor basic necessities 30 per cent cheaper than the market price,” he said when contacted.

Mohamad Khairil said that the JER programme in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration had also received a positive response and that the initiative will carry on as usual from next week.

The affordable sales offer standard chicken at RM10 per pack, fresh meat (RM10 per pack), grade B eggs (RM10 per pack), mackerels (RM6 per pack), cooking oil (RM25/five kilogrammes) and rice (RM10/five kilogrammes).

Last year, almost two million Selangor residents benefited from the initiative throughout its three-month operation from September to December.
