Sarawak State Legislative Assembly to sit for eight days from May 15

KUCHING, May 13 — The First Meeting of the Second Session of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly will be held for eight days from May 15 to May 24.

Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud will open the meeting on May 15.

Three bills will be tabled at the meeting, namely the Supplementary Supply Bill (2022), Supplementary Supply Bill (2023) and Sarawak Craft Council Bill 2023.

“Both of the Supplementary Supply Bills will be tabled by the Deputy Premier and second Minister of Finance and New Economy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.

“Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah will table the Sarawak Craft Council Bill,” he told a press conference after meeting Gabungan Parti Sarawak members, earlier today.

Mohamad Asfia said 375 questions would be raised at the sitting, with 305 being questions for oral replies and 70 questions for written answers.
