SHAH ALAM, May 20 — The state government will participate in Karnival Jom Heboh, organised by Media Prima Berhad, for the first time ever when it runs from June 2 to June 4.

State executive councillor for young generations Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the programme, which will take place Stadium Shah Alam’s square from 10am to 12am, will be officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“This cooperation (with Media Prima) is one way in which to approach the youths. Simultaneously, we feel the carnival is capable of forming a civilized society via the organisation of activities centred around family and sports.

“Throughout the programme, we will also promote and publicise all the schemes and policies provided by the state government over the years,” he told SelangorKini yesterday.

Mohd Khairuddin added the three-day Karnival Jom Heboh will also see the participation and cooperation of several other quarters, including the Shah Alam City Council, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, and Yayasan Kebajikan Atlet Kebangsaan.

“Some of the activities which will be featured at the carnival include street football tournaments, self-defence demonstrations, netball, street music competitions, and food festivals,” he said.
