King conveys 65th anniversary wishes to RMAF

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today conveyed 65th-anniversary wishes to all Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) staff, veterans, as well as all those who had served with RMAF.

His Majesty also expressed appreciation and admiration for the service and dedication of the RMAF in protecting the sovereignty and security of the country’s air space.

“May RMAF continue to make strides as a modern air force in defending the nation’s air space sovereignty and become a respected air force on the international scene,” the King said in a message via Istana Negara’s Facebook page.

The air force in the Malaysian Armed Forces was established on June 2, 1958, and was known as the Royal Federal Air Force at the time.

The RMAF’s anniversary is celebrated on June 1 each year.

This year’s celebration is themed Kuasa Udara, Perisai Kedaulatan Negara (Air Power, Shielding the Country’s Sovereignty).
