Selangor to showcase two major projects at Paris Air Show – Exco

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, June 18 – Two major projects in Selangor will be showcased at the 54th Paris Air Show, which begins tomorrow until June 25 at Paris-Le Bourget Airport, France.

State executive councillor for trade, industry, and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said that the Selangor Aerospace Park (SAP) and the Subang Airport Rejuvenation Project will be among the main exhibitions at the Malaysia Pavilion during the week-long air show.

“I, along with Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor), will be here for a week. We will take the opportunity to meet with all the industry players in the aerospace industry.

“At the same time, we will introduce the aerospace support industry in Selangor,” he said when contacted.

The Paris Air Show, which was last held in 2019, is set to be the largest air show in the world this year. It aims to attract a total of 139,840 trade visitors from 185 countries and 176,630 public visitors.

Among the participating companies include Dassault Aviation, the French aerospace giant developing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) centre for business jets at Subang Airport.

Also participating are Airbus, ATR, Embraer, Voltaero, Potez, Lockheed Martin, NH Industries, Marganski & Mylowski, Pipistrel, and Volocopter, as reported by Simple Flying.

This year, the state government, through Invest Selangor, is also organising the Selangor Air Show (SAS), scheduled for September 7 to 9, with a target of attracting potential investments worth RM2 billion.

These efforts were carried out through the implementation of the Aerospace Action Plan, managed by the Selangor Darul Ehsan Aerospace Industry Coordination Office (S-Daico), which is a special division under Invest Selangor, aligned with the state’s goal of becoming a major player in the aerospace industry by 2030.
