SUBANG JAYA, June 14 — The Education Ministry (MoE) is set to build two new public schools within the Kinrara state constituency to meet the needs of the local population.

Deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying said the proposal to build Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Seksyen 5 Bandar Kinrara has been approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan.

It is expected to be completed in four years, and will have 36 class rooms, including for pre-school and integrated special education programme.

The development of SK Jalan Puncak Jalil 4, meanwhile, will be included as part of 13th Malaysia Plan, Lim said, adding that the matter will be expedited for the benefit of those in the constituency.

“There are already developments pertaining to the construction of the schools. Through the Unity Government, we will try to implement them as soon as possible,” she said during the MoE’s visit to the Kinrara state constituency today.

Also present was state executive councillor and Kinrara assemblyman Ng Sze Han.

Under Budget 2023, the federal government had allocated RM2.3 billion to MoE for the purpose of infrastructure building and providing the best possible learning facilities for students.

Separately, MoE has allocated RM600,000 for the upgrading of basic facilities in five schools in Kinrara.

RM200,000 will be allocated for Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara, while RM100,000 each will be disbursed to SMK Bandar Puchong Jaya (A), SK Puchong, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Ladang Kinrara and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Kheng Chee.

Lim said the funds will be used to upgrade and fix school fields, toilets, roofs and ceilings, fences, canteens and walkways.

“We know most schools require maintenance allocation as they have been operating for so long. I hope this allocation can be benefitted well.

“For MoE, the most important thing is the safety of students and hygiene. As such, we will assist by providing funds to upgrade the necessary facilities,” she said.
