SHAH ALAM, July 22 — Selangor Menteri Besar (Incorporated), or MBI, has allocated RM330,000 so far in aid of disaster victims in the state.
MBI corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the funds were used for relief after incidents such as fires, natural disasters, storms and floods.
Azri said the aid is directly disbursed by MBI or through assemblymen.
“MBI is ready to help residents affected by disasters if we receive requests from any party.
“However, each request is scrutinised before aid is channelled to the applicant,” he said when met at a programme here last night.
Azri said MBI will soon hold aid handover programmes for disaster victims at the Taman Templer and Morib constituencies.
“Fifty-nine storm victims in the Taman Templer constituency will receive RM300 on Monday at Dewan Seroja Kampung Bendahara Batu Caves, while aid for the 152 storm victims in the Morib constituency will be given soon, with each victim entitled to RM500,” he said.
The state government’s subsidiary implements various corporate social responsibility activities, including the distribution of sacrificial livestock, a haj fund incentive, and a people’s tuition programme.
