SHAH ALAM, Aug 15 — Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin have safely arrived home after the ruler underwent medical treatment abroad.

The news was shared on Facebook by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, who warmly welcomed the rulers at the airport.

Amirudin conveyed his observations of the sultan’s buoyant spirit and voiced aspirations for the state monarch’s enduring and stable reign.

“Thank God, the medical affairs of His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor went well and smoothly. He also appears healthy and cheerful.

“We, the subjects and the people, pray for both Their Majesties to be granted long lives with good health, prosperity, and vigour.

“May Their Majesties remain steadfastly seated on the Throne of Governance with utmost magnificence, sovereignty, and well-being,’’ he said.

It was previously reported the Selangor ruler had been in the United Kingdom since July 28 to undergo the Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate procedure.

In London, Sultan Sharafudin was visited by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

With the state ruler’s return, it is expected the swearing-in ceremony for the Menteri Besar, along with the new line-up of executive councillors, will be carried out soon.

This comes after the Selangor polls on Saturday, which saw the unity coalition — Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional — winning 34 of the 56 state seats.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced before the polls that Amirudin will continue to lead the state should the unity bloc win Selangor.
