SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 — Water supply to five regions in the Klang Valley that faced unscheduled disruption since Saturday have been fully restored, according to Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

They are Petaling, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, and Kuala Selangor.

In an update on Facebook, the company said only certain areas in Klang are still facing disruption as of 12pm today, with recovery status currently at 54.4 per cent.

Among the locations still affected are Bandar Baru Bukit Raja, Bandar Puteri, Bukit Kapar, Glenmarie Cove, Pulau Ketam, Taman Sentosa and Taman Sri Andalas.

“The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location and distance of consumers’ premises,” it explained.

“We hope consumers who have received water supply will use water prudently to ensure that the recovery process in the still affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled.”

On Saturday, Air Selangor had said in a statement that consumers from six regions in the Klang Valley would face water supply disruption due to the reduction in treated water production, following high turbidity of raw water caused by water surge in Sungai Kerling.

Four treatment plants — Rantau Panjang, as well as the Sungai Selangor Phase 1, 2 and 3 — were affected as a result.

It added that consumers will receive their normal water supply gradually, once the water distribution system is stabilised.

“Alternative assistance through water tankers has been mobilised to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises,” it had said.

The public can look for updates on all of Air Selangor’s official social media pages or call its contact centre at 15300. Questions and complaints can also be submitted to the Help Centre on the website www.airselangor.com and Air Selangor mobile application.
