SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — The state government, via the Selangor Smart Professional Skills and Expertise Initiative (Iktisass), is offering a special scholarship to the state’s tahfiz graduates for the January intake.
Qualified individuals have the opportunity to enrol in the high-impact Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) course, specifically in air conditioning technology, through the Smart Tahfiz TVET programme.
The State Secretary’s Office said the 15-month programme, managed by the Selangor Technical Skills Development Center (STDC), is limited to the first 20 individuals who meet the qualification criteria, including memorising a minimum of three Quran juzuks.
“The registration fee, tuition, and dormitory accommodation are sponsored by the state government,” it said in a Facebook post.
Other qualifications include applicants being born and residing in Selangor for at least 12 years and between 16 and 21 years of age.
“Applicants must also be tahfiz students who are currently or have previously studied in tahfiz schools or institutions recognised by any department or agency of the Federal government and the Selangor state government.
“In addition, sponsorship priority will be given to students or trainees from the B40 and M40 family categories,” said the office.
