SUBANG JAYA, Feb 10 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) will organise a Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER) sale in conjunction with Aidilfitri that will offer even more basic items.

PKPS general manager (business and marketing sector) Rosnani Abd Malik said the programme will be organised to meet public demand and help them prepare to celebrate Eid.

“Insya Allah PKPS will try to meet public demand. For the JER, sale we will double the amount of basic goods available to ensure that the low-income groups can benefit.

“So far, PKPS and the Selangor Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDN) have agreed to organise JER mega sales for Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“For the JER event in conjunction with Chinese New Year yesterday, we brought two trucks. However, for Aidilfitri, we expect that we will use four or five trucks at each location,” she said when met at the Subang Jaya Mega Jualan Ehsan Rahmah sale in SS13 here yesterday.

She added that PKPS will add products from Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) such as lemongrass, pandan leaves, ginger, turmeric and fresh vegetables to the line-up of products on offer.

Commenting on the JER mega sale in conjunction with Chinese New Year, Selangor KPDN Domestic Trade Section Head Siti Rohani Omar said the amount of essential items on offer was doubled to meet the high demand.

“Today we brought 2,000 whole chickens, 600 bags of rice, 600 egg trays, 400 packets each of meat and fish and 140 bottles of cooking oil.”

Previously, PKPS received the 2023 Quality Management Award for outstanding success for the management of the JER programme.

The agency was also recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for selling the largest number of subsidised chickens and eggs over two days in conjunction with Aidilfitri.

In 2022, the State Government launched a sales initiative, which was an extension of the Agro Prihatin Selangor [rogramme introduced on June 2, 2021 via the Kita Selangor 2.0 Package. The programme aimed to overcome the dumping of agricultural produce due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
