SHAH ALAM, April 14 — The Selangor government will realign the state Agro Transformation Plan (PeTA) to cater to the current developments caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Izham Hashim said the restructuring process is to ensure the implementation of the plan would help reduce the impact of the Covid-19 aftermath on the people.
“In the previous meeting, we have agreed to round up several consultants and economic analysts to give their input on meeting the current challenges as well as after the outbreak is over.
“We are making the necessary preparations so that it would affect the people less and also to realign several programmes, including the long-term PeTA roadmap that stretches on until 2025,” he said in an interview on the Cendol Pak Ya programme yesterday.
Izham said a study is being conducted by the state administration on the need to increase the allocations for the Selangor economic stimulus package, which was announced by the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said several parties have commended the state initiatives to help farmers, breeders and fishermen as well as in providing access to affordable fresh products during the ongoing movement control order (MCO).
