Morib assemblyman is new Selangor deputy speaker

SHAH ALAM, July 13 — Morib state assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin of the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has been appointed as the new Deputy Speaker of the Selangor Legislative Assembly.

Hasnul’s appointment was announced by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at the second meeting of the third session of the 14th state assembly which convened today.

He replaces Sementa representative Dr Daroyah Alwi, who left the post vacant after leaving PKR on June 13.

Hasnul was sworn in before Speaker Ng Suee Lim.

No objections were raised by the 56 state assemblymen when Hasnul’s name was proposed for the appointment.

The state assembly is scheduled to sit from today to July 24.
