MB: 70,528 asnaf students receive tuition assistance, school equipment

SHAH ALAM, Feb 19 — A total of 70,528 asnaf students have received school fee and equipment assistance from the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS).

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the donation totalling RM34.6 million included uniforms, shoes, socks, bags and stationery.

“May LZS’s efforts be welcomed and benefit the families in need,” he said on Facebook.

Earlier, LZS chief executive officer, Saipolyazan Md Yusop said school aid to the poor and needy asnaf children in the state had increased from 65,000 recipients last year to over 70,000 this year.

According to Saipolyazan, school fee assistance starts from RM100 to RM250 per person depending on their school level.
