2,000 Covid-19 self-test kits distributed in Kajang

SHAH ALAM, Nov 9 — A total of 2,000 Covid-19 self-test kits were distributed for free to the targeted groups in Kajang.

Its state representative Hee Loy Sian said the kits had been distributed to small traders, taxi associations and Malay entrepreneur associations in stages starting from October 8 and will be continued until the end of the year.

Hee said the initiative, amounting to RM10,000, which was carried out in his own capacity, would benefit families from the low-income group (B40) as well as mosques, suraus and temples.

“The kit allows them to conduct self-testing, which would reduce the spread among the community,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini yesterday.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had previously announced the distribution of 60,000 self-test kits to family members of those who have contracted Covid-19 in Selangor.

He said the distribution would be channelled through the community service centres and constituency coordinating offices, which began in September.
