MBPJ: Kampung Baru Hicom fully cleared of flood waste

SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) cleared the post-flood waste along Jalan Bunga Tanjung 4a and Jalan Bunga Tanjung 1 in Kampung Baru Hicom earlier today.

Based on the report shared by the council, 19 people participated including six Special Action Squad (Pantas) members, three volunteers, two officers, with the rest drivers.

The process began at 8am, utilising several logistical vehicles including two pickups, vans and speed vans, lorries, three and five tonne Roll-on-Roll-off lorries, dredgers, and water jets.

The cleaning works concluded by 2.50pm, with five trips made to dispose of the flood waste.

The affected areas have been under cleaning efforts since December 20 last year, involving both MBPJ, volunteers, and KDEB Waste Management.

Earlier today the Shah Alam City Council announced that 28,506 metric tonnes of flood waste has been collected in the areas under its jurisdiction since the end of December until yesterday.
