SUBANG JAYA, March 27 — Some 200 residents of all races in the Seri Setia state constituency who have been actively volunteering were celebrated at a dinner reception last night.

Its state assemblyman Halimey Abu Bakar said they include the members of the Selangor Local Youth Movement, the residents’ committee, residents’ representative council and the Women’s Cultural Centre.

“We also appreciate widows and the next-of-kin of deceased volunteers by providing some contribution.

“The service and sacrifice of these volunteers greatly helped the surrounding residents when the Covid-19 pandemic struck,” he said during the Seri Setia state constituency dinner to honour the volunteers yesterday night.

The dinner was held at the Empire Subang Hotel and also symbolically marked the coming of Ramadan next week, in addition to forging closer bonds among residents.

Asides from the dinner, the attendees were also entertained by street musicians’ performances and a lucky draw.
