PKNS revives decades-old tradition, distributes 4,000 bubur lambuk packets for free

SHAH ALAM, April 5 — After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) today revived its two-decade tradition by distributing the Kampung Baru bubur lambuk ‘legend’ for free to visitors to the PKNS Complex here.

PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said the food distribution programme was a joint effort between PKNS and Koperasi PKNS Berhad.

He added that the distribution of the 4,000 packets of bubur lambuk, which were specially brought in from Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, cost RM30,000.

“Each year, PKNS distributes bubur lambuk, except for the previous two years. This is a tradition that has been carried out for decades.

“PKNS is very appreciative of our customers, as such we take this opportunity to resume sharing sustenance with our customers who have made the PKNS Complex and SACC Mall their main option to purchase food for breaking fast and items for Hari Raya,” he told reporters here today.

Apart from that, Mahmud said they would also continue breaking fast activities with orphans and tithe recipients this year.

Apart from the bubur lambuk distribution programme, members of the public can also attend the Cahaya Festira 2022 sales programme held simultaneously at the Shah Alam PKNS Complex, SACC Mall and Bangi PKNS Complex, which will feature more than 500 stalls promoting various goodies and items for Hari Raya.
