Rain, thunderstorms expected in four Selangor districts, two other states

SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in four districts in Selangor, namely Sabak Bernam, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang, until noon today.

According to the warning issued at 8.30am today, a similar weather condition is also expected in several areas in Johor and Sabah.

The areas involved in Johor includes Pintian, while in Sabah, it involves Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kudat.

MetMalaysia stated that a warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or is expected to occur for over an hour.

A thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it is issued.
