MPK opens dog license application counters in seven locations

SHAH ALAM, June 1 — The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has opened dog license application counters at seven select locations, starting this Saturday until August 14.

In a Facebook post, the local authority said the programme is aimed at encouraging pet owners to seek licenses for their pets.

“The licensing programme for pet dogs is an outreach programme carried out by MPK for the Klang community.

“It will be carried out in-situ at select locations, mainly locations with the highest density of pet dogs in the area,” it said.

MPK added the move will draw more dog owners to seek licenses for their pets, per the Dog and Dog Breeding House Licensing Bylaw (MPK) 2007.

“The initiative will also encourage a sense of responsibility in the owners in looking after the welfare of their pets, as well as control any disturbances arising from dog activities,” it said.

Pet owners are required to bring a copy of their IC, a health verification certificate from the veterinarian/animal department, a copy of the house photo, a colour-printed photo of their pet dog or dogs, and the old certificate (if applying for a renewal).

For more information or any inquiries, please contact the MPK Health Department at 03-3375 5555 ext 7310.
