Over 500 residents cycle and walk in Bangi during car-free morning

SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — Over 500 residents cycled and walked during the Bandar Baru Bangi Car-Free Morning Programme on Sunday (October 16).

The programme, organised by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) at Taman Tasik Cempaka, took place over a distance of 3.5km for walking and 20km for cycling.

“Simultaneously the 21km, 10km and 5km run for the MPKj 2022 Half Marathon took place, which began as early as 6am,” the council said in a Facebook post.

Other activities include aerobics, an ‘urban picnic’ competition, exhibitions from various agencies, a colouring competition, stalls selling a variety of goods, among others.

The ceremony was officiated by MPKj chairman Najmuddin Jemain, with Sungai Ramal state assemblyman Mazwan Johor and Kajang district police chief ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan in attendance.
