Former Meru assemblyman Dr Abd Rani Osman dies

SHAH ALAM, Jan 23 — Former Meru Assemblyman Dr Abd Rani Osman died today after losing consciousness while on holiday with his family in Carey Island, Kuala Langat.

Selangor PAS secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said Dr Abd Rani, 64, died on his way to Banting Hospital at about 5am.

“The funeral rite was conducted at the Banting Hospital before the remains will be taken to the As-Syarif Mosque in Meru, Kapar, near here, where another funeral prayer will be held. The remains will be buried at the Meru Muslim Cemetery today,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Dr Abd Rani leaves behind a wife, four children and 11 grandchildren.

Dr Abd Rani,  who studied medicine in Egypt, was Meru Assemblyman for two terms from 2008 to 2018. He was Selangor PAS commissioner from 2011 to 2013.

Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, through a post on his Twitter, expressed his condolences to Dr Abd Rani’s family.
