SHAH ALAM, April 12 — State-owned company KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) will conduct the collection of bulk waste, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Its managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir said KDEBWM will focus on areas where a majority of its residents observe the festival.
“There are two methods of operating bulk garbage collection during the festive season, which are house-to-house collection or bin centres according to the schedule, and supplying Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bins in certain areas.
“For the local authorities in Klang, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Selayang, and Sabak Bernam, there are an estimated 634 locations taken into account.
“The areas where we will concentrate our efforts include Meru, Kampung Delek, Jalan Rantau Panjang, and Kampung Melayu Subang, among others,” he told SelangorKini.
Ramli added the frequency of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri bulk waste collection will be carried out as usual, based on different schedules according to the collection zone under each local authority.
“KDEBWM is always focused and prepared to increase the collection frequency at any time, particularly for densely populated areas that will be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“The door-to-door collection frequency is prepared between once weekly to thrice weekly, depending on the local authority in question.
“Concerning the collection of RORO barrels, they will be withdrawn once filled and replaced with their empty counterparts,” he said.
