SINGAPORE, March 23 — Singapore today reported 48 imported and six local cases of Covid-19 infection in the republic.
This brings the tally for the Island-city to 509.
The republic’s Health Ministry (MOH) said the 48 imported cases had a travel history to Europe, North America and Asean.
“All (imported cases) except one were returning residents and Long Term Pass holders,” it said in a statement today.
The case is a 23-year-old female from New Zealand with a travel history to the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, six local new cases are currently unlinked, and contact tracing is ongoing, it said.
The ministry also said eight more cases of Covid-19 infection had been discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of fully recovered patients to 152 to date.
Of the 355 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving while 15 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Two have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on March 22.
As at noon, MOH had identified 8,351 close contacts, all of whom have been quarantined.
