SHAH ALAM, May 6 — Selangor registered five new positive Covid-19 cases reported as of noon yesterday, bringing the accumulated number in the state to 1,555.
One fatality was recorded in the state, raising the death toll to 19.
The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) said the single-digit increase in daily cases had not brought much change to the zone classification of the districts and townships.
However, it said the situation in Dengkil had improved as it is now a green zone after the two cases registered in the township have fully recovered.
“We would like to remind the public that you must put the face mask on when you go out, make it part of your daily accessory.
“We should not do away with the preventive measures during the modified conditional movement control order period in any given situation,” STFC said on a Facebook post last night.
According to the statistics provided by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre of the Selangor State Health Department, the state has 219 active Covid-19 cases, with a total 1,276 recoveries recorded.
Three districts in Selangor are still in the red zone, namely Gombak with 89 active coronavirus cases, Hulu Langat (45), and Petaling (51).
Batu is the only township classified a red zone out of the 56 townships, with 83 active Covid-19 cases.
Yesterday, Malaysia had recorded 30 new Covid-19 positive, pushing the total number of cases to 6,383.
