MB: Covid-19 community screen focus on hotspots, old folks’ homes

SHAH ALAM, Feb 21 — The Selangor free Covid-19 community screening will be focusing on the coronavirus hotspots in the state, including premises such as senior folks’ care centres, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said the location where the screening operation will be held is based on data and discussions between the state government and district health offices.

“During the recent testing held in Section 19, Shah Alam, a total of 729 individuals were screened. In Klang yesterday (Saturday), 400 people underwent the testing and today (yesterday) some 600 people went for the screening operation in Section 7.

“The screening will continue tomorrow (today) in PJS (Petaling Jaya). The free Covid-19 screening initiative is part of the efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19,” said Amirudin in a Twitter post last night.

The free testing programme today is held at Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) hall in Kampung Lindungan PJS 6.

The initiative supported by the state administration begins from 9am to 4pm and is aimed at residents in PJS5 to PJS10.

The Selangor government has carried out mass Covid-19 screenings in several hotspots in the state beginning last April and had also introduced the drive-through testing operation.
