More than 2.7 mln adolescents completed Covid-19 vaccinations

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 — A total of 2,740,609 individuals or 87.1 per cent of the adolescent population aged between 12 to 17 have completed their Covid-19 vaccine doses as of 11.59 pm yesterday.

Based on the Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal, 2,837,402 individuals or 90.2 per cent of the group have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, 22,827,262 individuals or 97.5 per cent of the adult population have completed their vaccinations, while 23,129,645 or 98.8 per cent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 177,272 doses of the vaccine were administered yesterday, comprising 169,380 booster doses, 4,675 second doses and 3,217 first doses.

This brings to a total of 56,394,970 doses of the vaccine administered with 5,055,934 being booster doses, under the National Covid-19 Immunisation programme.
