PETALING JAYA, Aug 15 — The Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS) Congress will be held in October to discuss current issues and steps to empower youth in the state.

State executive councillor for youth and sports development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the congress will be attended by youth members from all state constituencies and it will also invite state assemblymen to voice their views.

“We are currently discussing details for the organisation of this congress, however, it is expected to be conducted before the tabling of the (Selangor) budget, which is in October.

“The congress main focus is to hold debates on current issues and efforts to empower youth, who are future of the state and country,” he said after officiating the Selangor XTIV Tenpin Bowling Competition organised by PeBS at Sunway Pyramid here yesterday.

Mohd Khairuddin said PeBS will also hold a musical programme titled ‘Selangor Suka Muzik’ in October.

“This programme will gather musicians and rock singers to perform in the musical. It is organised by the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) and aimed at highlighting the music industry.

“Aside from that, we (PeBS) will also hold several other competitions involving motorcycles, muay thai and badminton,” he said.
