SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — The construction of a public library in Taman Sri Ampang, which has been slightly delayed, is expected to be completed in April next year, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the project resumed on November 4 after being delayed due to the inability of the previous contractor to complete the project within the stipulated time.

Amirudin also informed that the current construction progress has reached 52 per cent compared to the estimated progress work of 64 per cent as of November 7.

“A new contractor was appointed on November 2 and they began working two days after. There is a slight delay in progress of about 12 per cent from the initial schedule,” he said when answering a question from Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Haniza Mohamed Talha during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly here today.

The construction of the public library replaces the old building that was moved from its original location to make way for the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Highway (SUKE) development project.
