HULU LANGAT, Oct 23 — Dusun Tua state assemblyman Datuk Johan Abdul Aziz has vowed to ensure Jualan Ehsan Rahmah (JER) is expanded to more locations in his constituency next year.
This ensures residents can purchase essential goods at affordable prices, thus helping to save on their expenses.
“The affordable sales programme has attracted consistent positive responses from the public and remains the preferred choice for residents when purchasing their daily goods.
“I am committed to expanding the initiative to more locations in Dusun Tua,” the Barisan Nasional lawmaker said at a JER programme organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) at Dewan Batu 16 today.
“This also aligns with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari’s message to all assemblymen for the programme to be continued next year and that it be improved by adding more essential goods,” he added.
JER coordinator Muhammad Syahmi Asymawi said in today’s event, 300 fresh chickens, 200 packs of rice, and 160 packs of frozen meat were sold out within two hours.
“The response was amazing with the attendance of some 200 visitors who began queuing as early as 7.30am,” he said.
JER offers standard chicken at RM10 per piece, frozen beef at RM10 a pack, Grade B chicken eggs RM10 per tray, mackerel fish at RM6 a pack, 5kg cooking oil at RM25 per bottle, and 5kg rice at RM10 per bag.
Selangor has spent RM40 million on subsidies to organise JER at 2,850 locations statewide, benefitting over five million citizens.
