SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — Sheet piling works to stabilise the soil at the landslide area in Taman Wawasan, Puchong have reached 85.6 per cent completion.

This was confirmed by the Subang Jaya City Council in a post on social media site X yesterday evening.

It said that its deputy mayor Mohd Zulkarnain Che Ali and Engineering Department director Rosli Mohamad Yunus were on the ground to monitor the progress.

“Members of the public are urged to be precautious (of their surroundings) and report any issues they face through the Aduan MBSJ mobile app or by directly calling the council’s command centre at 03-8024 7700.

On December 25, it was reported that the sheet piling works at the landslide site have achieved 80 per cent completion.

Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim had said in all, 375 piles have been installed, with primary focus on the area in front of the affected houses, as well as the drains there.

Once this is done, he said focus will shift to phase two, which involves temporary water diversion at the damaged drains and the installation of 400 sheet piles on the sides of the drains.

The landslide, which occurred along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and Jalan 3/14 in Taman Wawasan around 7.30pm on December 16, had forced the evacuation of 29 residents from nine terrace houses for safety reasons.

The disaster resulted in four vehicles to be buried under the rubbles, although no casualties were reported.
