SHAH ALAM, Jan 20 — RM100,000 has been allocated to refurbish a block at SMK Tinggi Kajang via the Projek Mesra Rakyat initiative.

Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan said the block, which has four classrooms, needs immediate upgrading due to its deteriorating condition, which threatens the students’ safety.

The maintenance project includes replacing grills and perforated ceilings, painting works, and repairing the floor, which is expected to be fully operational next week.

“This school is well-known and is over a century old. I understand this block has not been used for the past four years due to damage, and students have been placed in temporary classrooms,” he said when contacted.

Syahredzan added that several other schools in his constituency will also benefit from the initiative in stages to ensure students have a conducive environment.

“The upgrade assistance has been distributed since last year. My only intention is to focus on basic matters like schools as education is crucial for future generations,” he said.
