Ringgit falls against the US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR, SEP 14: The ringgit continued its decline against the US dollar today following a lack of interest in the local currency, said traders.
At 9 am, the ringgit was at 4.1300/1365 compared to the US dollar from 4.1050/0100 yesterday, according to BERNAMA.
Traders said that sentiment towards foreign exchange and equities was dampened by a US Federal Reserve official statement that indicated that any raise in interest rates this month was unlikely. The ringgit traded mixed against other major currencies.
It fell against the Singapore dollar at 3.0208/0260 from 3.0182/0223 and was low compared to the Euro at 4.6330/6420 from 4.6066/6135.
The local currency, however, rose compared to the Yen to 4.0179/0254 from 4.0261/0322 and strengthened compared to the Pound to 5.4380/4486 from 5.4449/4527.
