Local council staff in the frontline provided food during Ramadan

SHAH ALAM, April 30 — The Selangor government is providing free sahur (pre-dawn meal) and buka puasa meals to all local authority staff on the frontline beginning today.

State Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Committee chairman Ng Sze Han said a total of 15,000 meals will be prepared as a show of appreciation and moral support to the staff working on the frontline of the battle against Covid-19.

“This also part of the state government’s efforts to help the small local traders by ordering the meals from them for sahur and buka puasa.

“The local authorities are advised to place their orders from different traders as a measure to help the local economy recover,” he said in a statement yesterday, adding that RM120,000 has been allocated for the initiative.
