SHAH ALAM July 30 — Mohd Yazid Sairi was sworn in as Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) eighth president on July 27.
His appointment, which took effect on July 19, replaced former president Shamsul Shahril Badliza Mohd Noor, who moved to the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry (KeTSA).
In his speech at the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, Mohd Yazid said he will give focus on issues of illegal factories, illegal dumping of rubbish, nuisance and compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP).
“I intend to provide the best service to the community.
“I hope to get cooperation from the council members to act as intermediaries for the community in channelling information and complaints to enable MPS to take action,” he said.
The 47-year-old holds a Masters in Strategic Management of Human Resources at Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UniRazak) and has almost 21 years of experience in public administration.
His previous post was as Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) deputy director (Management).
