GOMBAK, July 8 — Hundreds of residents around Gombak attended the Jualan Ehsan Carnival at Jalan GP2, Taman Gombak Permai here today to purchase affordable goods and produce in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

A SelangorKini survey found that most of the visitors started queuing as early as 7am even though the programme organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) only started at 9am.

As of 11am, over 500 visitors were recorded attending the programme.

Despite the high number of visitors, the sale carnival went smoothly with the help of Malaysian Volunteers Corps Department (Rela) members and volunteers from the residents association.

The four-day programme started at Sijangkang on July 5, and was continued at Bukit Beruntung and Tanjung Sepat.

The sale carnival was also held concurrently today at Pangsapuri Inai in Pandan Indah.

The products offered are fresh whole chicken at RM15 each, grade B eggs at RM12 per tray, cooking oil at RM2 per packet, fresh meat at RM35 per kg and frozen fish at RM8 per packet.

The sale carnival that opens from 9am to 2pm also sells rice, glutinous rice, mini ketupat, flour, bottled cooking oil and sugar.

Since December last year, the affordable goods sale organised by PKPS has been held in 64 locations throughout the state, aiming to help alleviate the people’s burden following the hike in food prices.
