SHAH ALAM, Dec 4 — More programmes and assistance will be offered next year as part of the state government’s effort to unearth more entrepreneurs, thus boosting the economy.

State executive for entrepreneurs development Rodziah Ismail said among the ongoing programmes include the i-Sosial Scheme, which is managed by the Selangor Hijrah Foundation, that provides financing up to RM10,000.

“This initiative aims to help entrepreneurs out there, especially small traders, mid-size and micro businesses to expand their products.

“We want to position Selangor as the model state apart from continuing to be the highest contributor to the country’s gross domestic product,” she said when met after officiating the Selangor Entrepreneurs Gathering Event in conjunction with the Selangor Entrepreneurs Carnival 2022, here yesterday.

On November 25, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amiruddin Shari during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget announced an allocation of RM4.2 million to mobilise the i-Sosial scheme, particularly to those who require financial assistance to fund their business activities.

Apart from that, he said the Hijrah scheme will also be improved with an allocation of RM130 million for entrepreneurs’ development.

As of now, the foundation offers several schemes including Zero to Hero, Niaga Darul Ehsan, Go Digital, i-Lestari, i-Agro, i-Bermusim and i-Bisnes.
