SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari hands over 30 boats to the local authorities and the District and Land offices today in preparation for floods.
The Selangor State Secretary’s Office (management services) division secretary Muhammad Hanafi Ahmad said that the police, Fire Department, Civil Defence Force and the State Disaster Management Unit have also received the assets.
“The initiative involves an allocation amounting to RM270,000. We hope this donation can help all the agencies to carry out their tasks well during the floods,” he told SelangorKini.
Earlier, Amirudin presented the donation to agency representatives at the lobby of the Dewan Jubli Perak before his 2023 New Year address.
In October last year, the state government-linked company Selangor Utility Corridor (Kusel) also donated flood operation equipment to local authorities and the District and Land offices.
Contributions include 14 units of portable electric power generators, 14 units of cleaning jets and safety boats to launch rescue operations.
