KUALA SELANGOR, June 21 — Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and the Social Security Organisation (Socso) provided some assistance to a disabled youth living in Kampung Parit Mahang.
Former factory operator Muhamad Daniel Musa, 22, who is now partially paralysed due to a road accident in May 2021, received a RM56,208 contribution from Socso.
He also received a monthly Permanent Disability Benefit of RM792, and RM500 in Constant Attendance Allowance (ELS).
Dr Dzulkefly expressed gratitude for Muhamad Daniel’s coverage under Socso, which has helped to alleviate his family’s burdens.
“It is clear Muhamad Daniel’s mental capabilities remain unaffected, and he can still undergo the rehabilitation process as well as training to eventually rejoin the workforce from home.
“He is still young, and I hope following this Socso will continue to assist and guide Muhamad Daniel as he gradually returns to the labour pool, with a suitable employer,” he told SelangorKini.
During the visit, Dr. Dzulkefly presented essential goods and a personal cash donation to Muhamad Daniel’s family. Socso Selangor director Ismail Abi Hashim was also in attendance.
On her part, Muhamad Daniel’s mother Hasanah Nawan, 48, said doctors have confirmed her son suffered a permanent disability, due to his broken spine and neck.
She added that her third child (out of six) is greatly interested in animation, and aspires to be a graphic designer someday.
“The accident happened when he was working part-time after completing the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination. Yet I can be thankful, as Muhamad Daniel’s SPM results were quite good.
“I pray for a miracle so that my son can pursue his dreams one day,” Hasanah said.
