SHAH ALAM, Nov 12 — The 2024 Selangor Budget will strengthen the rural economy and infrastructure, thus balancing development across different areas.

State executive councillor for rural development, Datuk Rizam Ismail, said the allocations of RM4 million each to upgrade public facilities and empower the rural economy will enable various agendas to be implemented, including organising the rural leadership system under Gagasan Rumpun Selangor.

“I thank Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for allocating RM4 million for rural public facilities and rural road upgrading projects, while another RM4 million is allocated to empower the rural economy and its development.

“Similarly, I would like also to express my utmost appreciation for Gagasan Rumpun Selangor’s introduction to promote unity among Selangor’s people,” he said in a statement.

During the budget’s tabling on Friday (November 10), Amirudin said Gagasan Rumpun Selangor is an initiative aimed at celebrating diversity and fostering unity in the state.

He added that Karnival dan Jelajah Perpaduan Rumpun Selangor will be held in nine districts using a RM4.5 million allocation.

Various engaging activities will be held, including discounted sales, community sports, health screenings, cultural performances, community work, and career guidance programmes.
