SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — The two-hour parking limit on 67 designated bays in five locations across the state capital here will come into full effect beginning tomorrow.

The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said the enforcement is done in line with the Road Transport Order (Parking Space Allocation) MBSA (Amendment) 2023.

It added that the previous implementation from September last year was meant as a trial period.

“It (trial run) was aimed at educating and introducing the community to the new two-hour parking limit,” it said in a post on X today.

According to MBSA, the designated parking bays are located on Jalan Tengku Ampuan Zabedah D 9/D in Seksyen 9, Jalan Pahat F 15/F (Seksyen 15), Jalan Sepadu B 25/B (Seksyen 25), Anggerik Vanilla N 31/N (Seksyen 31), and Jalan Prima R U13/R and Jalan Prima F U13/F (Seksyen U13).

Those utilising these bays will be charged RM1.20 per hour for a maximum of two hours, with enforcement taking effect from 8am to 5pm every Monday to Friday.

No appeal or compound reduction will be given for offences in relation to the abuse of the parking spaces, including the usual discounted RM10 flat rate for compound payments made within 24 hours.

Payments for the two-hour parking can be made via multiple different mobile applications, including Smart Selangor Parking, Flexi Parking, GoPayy, Jom Parking, Touch n’ Go eWallet dan Setel.
