HIS Toyyiba eyes 300 Selangor Platform entrepreneurs for halal certification programme

SHAH ALAM, Feb 14 — Halal International Selangor (HIS) Toyyiba Sdn Bhd is targeting 300 Selangor Platform (PLATS) entrepreneurs to join the halal certification guidance programme this year.

HIS Toyyiba Sdn Bhd general manager Muhammad Syaril Showkat Ali said they will be given entrepreneurship training for three months before undergoing the three-month halal certification guidance programme.

“We are especially screening for traders, who have a premises, as one of the criteria for applying for a halal certificate is having a business premises,” said Muhammad Syaril when contacted.

PLATS, which was introduced following the movement control order four years ago, helps small, micro and medium enterprises to digitise their business.

HIS Toyyiba Sdn Bhd is an initiative of the State Government to make Selangor a global state in the halal industry in addition to serving as the lead agency for the three initiatives of the Selangor Halal Action Plan 2020-2030.
